Academics are currently recruiting Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools and secondary settings in East Sussex.
We're looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people aged approximately 11-19 with learning difficulties, autism, communication needs and additional SEN.
The pupils may have:
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Autism / ASD
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Specific Learning Difficulties
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Behavioural needs
- EHCPs and individual learning plans
You could be supporting pupils with both their academic and personal development, helping them access lessons, develop independence and prepare for life beyond school.
Your responsibilities may include:
- 1:1 and small-group support
- Supporting pupils within lessons
- Differentiating and adapting activities
- Encouraging independence
- Supporting communication
- Helping pupils develop life and social skills
- Supporting emotional regulation and behaviourWorking closely with teachers and SEN teams
We’re interested in candidates with experience in schools, colleges, SEN settings, youth work, care or support work.
