Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Senior Design Engineer to contribute to our Design team. Working with the relevant lead engineer, the Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of new and maintenance of existing crushing plant, within defined timescales.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide engineered solutions for the development of new products and modifications to existing products.
- Resolve problems at the root cause quickly and effectively and manage engineering change process.
- Follow Group standards in the areas of QFD, FMEA, design-for-manufacture, prototype development and field testing.
- Ensure effective global management of released engineering data.
- Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability.
- Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and consultation with the production department, purchasing and suppliers.
- Investigate and address Customer Complaints in a timely manner.
- Stay knowledgeable of machine component advancements and competitor design trends; apply latest technology to new and existing designs where appropriate.

Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering, ideally with design experience in mobile tracked equipment.
- Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally CREO, and familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Experience of conveying systems would be advantageous.
- A good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines.
- Creativity and innovative thinking.
- Experience with Oracle TMS a plus.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A “Can do” attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team.
- Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
- Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timelines.
- Able to select from multiple design alternatives when a clear best choice is not evident.
- Can identify risks both technical and commercial with proposed product change or new product.
