About the Role
This is an exciting, progressive opportunity for a Production Manager to join an established world class engineering/manufacturing Company. Terex is expanding, we are looking for someone to join us in a key role where they will help to support, manage, and develop our production facility for the future.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To maintain compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations and promote health & safety within the workplace.
- Perform Safety Audits and generate investigation reports to ensure that corrective actions will eliminate reoccurrence and unsafe acts/conditions. Zero Harm.
- Effectively and efficiently manage the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimising costs where possible and ensure the required best working practices are always maintained.
- To ensure that the highest quality of product is maintained by driving and embedding the (TQM) Quality principles (don’t accept, don’t make, don’t pass on). Zero Defects.
- To attend and organise the daily and weekly production meetings. Proactively Communicating with all relevant People / Departments and coordinating all relevant inputs (People, plant, and processes) to ensure production output and on time delivery targets are achieved.
- Promote continual output improvements and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
- To manage the manufacturing team daily in terms of labour, work instruction, improving performance, attendance management and any disciplinary and grievance issues that may arise.
- To ensure lines are run in accordance with lean manufacturing practices and principals, pursuing continuous improvement opportunities e.g. Daily Kaizens, Problem solves.
- To understand the company vision and actively work towards achieving our aims. Undertake additional tasks within the company to improve the conditions for all employees.
- As part of the Management team, you will be jointly responsible for contributing towards the achievement of the company’s strategic and operational targets.
The Person / essential Experience
- Significant production experience gained in a busy and fast-moving manufacturing environment.
- Experience and proven track record of Supervisory and /or people management is essential.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques an advantage.
- Computer literate and experience of Oracle /ERP systems.
- Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and proficient in managing one’s own time.
- Proven track record of meeting strict deadlines and ability to adapt to changing priorities and goals.
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving along with the ability to drive improvements.
- Committed team player who is performance driven to meet targets and Business objectives.
