We have an exciting roadmap ahead for new products, services, production capacity and business expansion. As a result of this continued success, we are expanding our teams. We currently have an opportunity for an Engineering Manager (TCS & Prostack) based at our Campsie or Omagh site.
About the Role
Primary responsibility is the functional and organisational leadership and management for the Terex Conveying Systems & Prostack Engineering team. This includes control and allocation of the team resource according to the priorities and projects assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the Engineering Department including but not limited to scheduling, cost reductions through redesign and product upgrades, provide leadership to team members, employee development, work closely with manufacturing and sales to resolve design issues, support continuous improvement activities, responsible for CAD system.
- Manage all New Product Development projects from concept to conclusion, liaising closely with the NPPD program manager and all associated departments.
- Ensure Engineering project plans are adhered to and all targets and goals achieved within the appropriate project timeline and target budgets.
- Working closely with multiple internal TCS Departments, manage multiple projects concurrently to ensure all projects are on time and on budget.
- Develop metrics to track departmental productivity and efficiency.
- Develop metrics to track 'right first time' percentages and develop processes and procedures to improve 'right first time' percentages.
- Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety in product design.
- Evaluate and develop improved techniques for the control of product designs, quality, reliability and safety.
- Supervise subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
- Provide technical and engineering support to internal customers regarding technical information and engineering problems.
- Maintain project records of completed projects, store standards, catalogues, and design guides for future reference.
- Identify priorities for quality improvements, establishment of metrics, lead the development of required standards and assistance in determining best practice for the company.
- Enforce all company policies and all local, state and governmental laws and regulations impacting the company.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as required.
Experience Level & Required Qualifications:
- Engineering degree or equivalent
- 5 years experience in design engineering
- Experience Leading and Developing a team
- Design experience (3D CAD), preferably Creo
- Experience in working with external and internal customers at all levels of an organization
- Experience with Aggregate and/or Mineral Washing equipment a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with managing budgets
