As a Production Supervisor at Terex, based in Omagh, you'll play a pivotal role in building equipment that helps improve the lives of people around the world.
What you'll do:
- Reporting to the Production Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations on the production floor, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are achieved.
- This role requires a strong focus on lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and employee engagement to drive operational excellence.
- Duties include:
- Lead and manage the production team daily in terms of labour, work instruction, attendance management, training and development, and all areas of employee relations.
- Controlling and managing the production levels on the shop floor, to ensure that the targets are achieved.
- Monitor the continual flow of material so that relevant parts and materials are available in a timely manner.
- Drive lean manufacturing practices including 5S, Kaizen and waste elimination.
- Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilisation.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, maintenance, and supply chain teams to resolve production issues.
- Foster a culture of accountability, problem-solving, and employee involvement.
- Attend and organise the daily and weekly production meetings.
- Promote health and safety within the workplace and ensure compliance to all Health and Safety Regulations.
- Ensure the production line is run in accordance with lean manufacturing practices and principles.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
- Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations and Policies.
What you'll bring:
- Experience & Qualifications:
- Candidates should be qualified to minimum of GCSE level or equivalent.
- Significant production experience gained in a highly pressured manufacturing environment.
- Experience and proven track record of Supervisory and/or people management is essential.
- An understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques is an advantage.
- Awareness of visual management.
- Computer literate and experience of Oracle/ERP systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work to and meet strict deadlines and able to adapt to changing priorities and goals.
- Good team player and able to work on own initiative.
