About the Role
Working with the relevant Lead Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment, working to set timelines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, co-ordinate and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture major sub-components and completed machines.
- Co-ordination of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to establish/implement containment and root cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
- Implementing best practice standard work onto shop floor.
- Build/Drawing pack creation & maintenance in conjunction with Engineering Change Orders & New Product Development.
- Liaise with cross functional departments e.g. supply chain, engineering, quality.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including Line Balance, 5S, Poke Yoke.
- Ensure current processes and all new processes encompass safe working practices.
- Production support to the Manufacturing Department.
- Problem Solving.
About you
- Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous.
- Competent in use of Microsoft packages.
- Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous.
- Excellent multi-tasking & attention to detail skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good organisational skills.
- Logical & Methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
