We currently have an opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer.

About the Role

Working with the relevant Lead Engineer, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development and improvement of existing manufacturing systems, procedures and equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment, working to set timelines.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, co-ordinate and implement the most efficient and cost-effective production methods required to manufacture major sub-components and completed machines.
  • Co-ordination of Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance Departments to establish/implement containment and root cause fixes to manufacturing issues.
  • Implementing best practice standard work onto shop floor.
  • Build/Drawing pack creation & maintenance in conjunction with Engineering Change Orders & New Product Development.
  • Liaise with cross functional departments e.g. supply chain, engineering, quality.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles including Line Balance, 5S, Poke Yoke.
  • Ensure current processes and all new processes encompass safe working practices.
  • Production support to the Manufacturing Department.
  • Problem Solving.

About you

  • Minimum HNC / HND Engineering Qualification or demonstrate extensive relevant knowledge through on job experience.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle) would be advantageous.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft packages.
  • Experience of 3D modelling software would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Machine Shop and Fabrication would be advantageous.
  • Excellent multi-tasking & attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Logical & Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work with others to meet deadlines.
