Join our team at Terex Omagh and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to contribute to our Facilities team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and modifying all manufacturing and facility plant and equipment. The role involves working on mechanical equipment and control systems in many areas within the Omagh facilities including paint & blast facility, machine shop, fabrication, and assembly operations. Work will be reactive, responding to breakdowns or H&S issues, or planned maintenance and following preventative maintenance schedules.

  • Ensure the smooth running and maintenance of all manufacturing and facility equipment on a daily basis.
  • Assist to ensure that all facilities, plant & equipment are operating and available to full capacity.
  • Actively minimise plant and equipment downtime in support of production by responding quickly to breakdown situations when required.
  • Carry out planned maintenance on bespoke equipment and contribute to continuous improvements on machines and processes.
  • Actively manage the preventative maintenance program for the repair and modification of machines and facilities as appropriate or required providing reports on a regular basis.
  • Methodically troubleshoot and fault-find mechanical and control equipment in order to determine the root cause of problems.
  • To be available on call (rota based) to provide maintenance and breakdown cover over a 24-hour period.
  • Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, Policies & Procedures.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Essential:
  • A Third Level Qualification or Vocational Time Served within a mechanically based environment.
  • Experience of industrial paint/spray installations and blast equipment.
  • Experience of maintaining plant/equipment/control systems in a high volume production environment.
  • A good understanding of engineering principles and an ability to read schematics/drawings.
  • Strong Communication skills.
  • A Full Driving License.
  • Desirable:
    • Competence & experience of PLC control systems within a manufacturing plant.
    • Electrical Qualification would be desirable but not essential.
    • Knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, power train, gears, bearings, and lubricants.
    • Forklift Truck License/or training to acquire.
    • Mobile Elevated Work Platform License or training to acquire.
    • The initiative to work on your own or as part of a team.
    • Able to work quickly and under pressure.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Basic IT Skills.
    • Adaptability and flexible attitude to work.
    • Able to cross-train other team members in line with maintenance requirements.
