Location: Mobile – UK-Wide, Multi-Locational (extensive travel and regular overnight stays required)

Purpose Of The Role

The Mobile Service Engineer will undertake a variety of routine servicing, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on Distribution Tractors, Ro-Ro Tractors, a range of sea port equipment, Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE only), and other manufacturers’ products. This role is multi-locational, requiring the engineer to travel to any customer site across the UK, often spending time away from home in order to support business and customer needs.

You will carry out visual and operational checks to identify worn, faulty, or incorrectly adjusted parts, and use technical manuals, diagnostic techniques, and specialist test equipment to repair defective components, systems, or machinery. You will also conduct thorough inspections of accident-damaged equipment and produce accurate written reports to support repair processes.

To work as an effective member of the Service Department, you will undertake the tasks and assignments issued by the Service Department either by oral instruction or in the form of electronic work instructions. You will determine your own repair and maintenance techniques, undertake equipment selection, proper materials, and implement the correct safety measures (e.g. Eye Protection, suitable clothing, etc.).

You will obtain agreement from the customer that the work has been completed as required/requested, and in all cases, obtain signature and purchase order number where necessary. You will perform all relative administrative procedures to acceptable standards and all inventory procedures relative to the vehicle parts stock to maintain an accurate account of components carried and used.

Finally, you will ensure maintenance and repairs are carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and our Safe System of Work procedures.
