Reports to Managing Director. Direct Reports: None. Location: Mobile – M62 Corridor (UK) (occasional travel overseas).

Purpose Of The Role

To represent and promote our fire‑fighting vehicles and equipment into municipal, aviation, military and industrial fire and rescue services. To work alongside our existing colleagues to explore aviation and industrial market sectors primarily for vehicle equipment sales and rental, and to explore opportunities within the local authority fire and rescue sectors, based around our current activities and future growth opportunities. You will proactively develop relationships with new and existing clients, along with promoting our products, and their technical specifications and features. To develop our customer portfolio and drive the expansion of our customer base. It builds on our continuing process of expansion and achievement of business objectives to become the leading industry player in the UK and develop our reputation and standing in the marketplace for providing high quality customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the business forward to maximise fire vehicle and equipment sales and rental profits, as well as customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that the sales process is followed at all times in order to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Maximise customer satisfaction by ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Actively promote and sell the complete product portfolio including new and used vehicles, equipment and ancillary services.
  • To develop untouched grass root business sectors.
  • Achieve targets for capital sales, service agreements, repair and maintenance contracts etc.
  • Develop a solutions‑driven approach, which positively impacts on the customer experience.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with current key customers ie, Contractors, Contract Hire Companies, service providers and end line users.
  • Project manage queries/modification campaigns in the field in conjunction with After Sales Department.
  • Company supplied equipment to be kept secure at all times and used in line with policy and legal legislation.
  • To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
  • Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

Critical Skills Required

  • Proven track record in new sales and converting enquiries, ideally within the Fire Equipment Sector.
  • Enthusiasm to develop the market, and work under their own “door opening” initiatives.
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and with a sense of urgency.
  • Communications skills, both verbal and in writing, together with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to manage own workload independently prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent organisation and prioritising skills.
  • The ability to present and provide updates to customers.
  • Resolve customer queries in the field in liaison with key department.

Critical Knowledge Required

  • Specific equipment training will be provided by Terberg DTS.
  • Understanding and awareness of current and future technology developments.
  • Excellent, high level / advanced Excel Skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications And Experience Required

  • Proven business development sales experience.
  • Experience of succeeding in a competitive marketplace.
  • Experience of local authority tender process.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
