Purpose of the role: To carry out a wide range of welding and fabrication activities on specialist vehicles, plant equipment, and associated components, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with engineering specifications. The role involves structural and cosmetic repairs, body panel replacement and modification, and the manufacture of bespoke components using a variety of welding and fabrication techniques. In addition, the role will support mechanical repair and maintenance activities where required, working collaboratively with workshop engineers to ensure efficient completion of work. All tasks must be completed in accordance with company standards, health and safety regulations, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities:
- To display the highest standards of workmanship, appearance and conduct at all times.
- To carry out MIG, TIG and other welding processes on a variety of materials including steel, aluminium and other alloys.
- To undertake fabrication work including cutting, forming, shaping and assembling components to specification.
- To carry out structural repairs, modifications and body panel replacements on specialist vehicles and equipment.
- To interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications and repair instructions.
- To assess damaged components and determine appropriate repair methods.
- To carry out hot works safely, including welding, cutting and grinding operations in line with company procedures.
- To ensure all fabrication and welding work meets required quality and safety standards.
- To support mechanical fitting, repair and maintenance tasks where required, working alongside engineers.
- To complete all job-related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- To ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a clean, safe and organised condition.
- To be willing to assist colleagues in the execution of their duties as required.
- There will be an element of manual handling involved in the role.
- Support with off‑site or mobile repair work where required, demonstrating flexibility.
- To work with all departments, particularly with projects that are being explored or implemented.
- Undertake any other duties consistent with the purpose of this job or to support the needs of the business.

- Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, including PPE and hot works procedures.

Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Recognised welding and fabrication qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent).
- Proven experience in welding and fabrication within a workshop or engineering environment.
- Experience working on vehicles, plant equipment or heavy engineering applications (desirable).
- Experience in bodywork repairs and structural modifications (desirable).
- Basic mechanical knowledge or experience (desirable).
