The role is responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Data Centre facility in its entirety ensuring client MSA & SLA's are achieved.
Main Function
- Data Centre Management: Comply to working methods ensuring all SLA's and MSA's are achieved. Management of data centre infrastructure to provide concurrently maintainable, cost effective system supporting 99.999% electrical uptime and 99.99% mechanical uptime.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance in accordance to all relative policies and procedures. Meet agreed inter-departmental OLA (Operational Level Agreement). H&S Monitoring and corrective action to meet statutory compliance, SLA's and good business practice.
- Critical System Management: Ensure applicable planned and corrective maintenance is managed in accordance to ensure customer MSA's and SLA's are achieved. Conduct working methods to maintain agreed PUE levels. Task finalisation and report accurately, as per agreed format, quality and within the agreed timelines.
- Data Centre Ethics: Ensure compliance is maintained incorporating industry best practices. Ensure data centre facilities standards are enforced and maintained. Ensure data centre cleaning standards are enforced and maintained.
Key Performance Areas
- Preventative and reactive maintenance of all building infrastructure systems.
- The maintenance and coordination of generators, UPS’s, Chiller plant and air-conditioning, switchgear etc services.
- Maintaining the Building Management Systems and monitoring of all equipment.
- The power reticulation of all equipment in the building.
- Overseeing new installations and the supervision of all Building Services Contractors.
- Ensure reliability/maintenance of all equipment in buildings and building infrastructure.
- Self-performing of first line repairs on electrical, plumbing and other building systems.
- Responding to calls logged in the building i.e.: power tripped, new plugs installed, pipe leaking, etc. based on the level of priority.
- Ensuring that all control of works are in place and adhered to.
- Performing building inspections and audits.
- Maintaining thorough and accurate records of daily activities, equipment status, and operating parameters.
- Must be pro-active, helpful, able to use initiative and must be willing to work extended hours.
- Must be willing to travel.
- All activities performed on time.
