In this senior role, you’ll take the lead on complex arboricultural tasks and projects, ensuring excellent technical quality, sound judgement, and a positive client experience. You’ll manage programmes, budgets, and quality assurance, and work closely with colleagues across ecology, landscape, planning and other disciplines to deliver joined-up outcomes. You’ll also help develop our services by sharing knowledge, supporting bids where appropriate, and mentoring others through coaching and constructive review.
As a Senior Arboricultural Consultant, you’ll combine technical expertise with project leadership to deliver trusted advice and high-quality outputs.
- Lead and deliver arboricultural assessments and advice, including survey planning, site work and reporting.
- Manage projects end-to-end, including programme, resourcing, quality, health and safety, and budget control.
- Produce clear, well-structured reports and supporting plans (e.g., constraints, impact and mitigation), using MS Office and CAD/GIS where needed.
- Act as a technical point of contact for clients and colleagues, providing consistent, pragmatic guidance.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to integrate arboriculture into broader environmental and planning solutions.
- Support business development activities, including fee proposals and submissions, where relevant.
- Coach and review the work of others, sharing good practice and supporting learning and CPD.

- A degree (or equivalent) in Arboriculture, Forestry, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership (or working towards) with the Arboricultural Association and/or Institute of Chartered Foresters.
- Strong arboricultural knowledge, including tree identification, physiology, inspection/assessment techniques and management.
- Good working knowledge of relevant UK arboricultural legislation, standards and best-practice guidance.
- Proven experience producing high-quality reports and plans; confidence with MS Office and familiarity with CAD/GIS is helpful.
- Experience liaising with clients and stakeholders, with the ability to lead projects and contribute to technical discussions.
- A full driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required.
