We are looking for an experienced art handling technician who will participate in the planning, installation, de‑installation and maintenance of Hayward Touring exhibitions, those in the Hayward Gallery itself and on other visual arts projects at Southbank Centre.
Responsibilities
- Plan, install, de‑install and maintain Hayward Touring exhibitions and other visual arts projects.
- Work as part of the Hayward Gallery Operations team, rostered flexibly over 7 days for up to 160 hours over four weeks, including occasional weekends.
- Travel extensively across the UK, often staying overnight away from the London base.
- Handle a wide range of artworks – works on paper, paintings, sculptures and audiovisual installations – with care and expertise.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an art‑handling technician in a gallery environment.
- Expertise in installing, handling and packing a broad spectrum of artworks.
- Strong knowledge of safe handling and transport of artworks.
