Job offer: 3D Designer in Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
Permanent contract, 35 hours per week
Grade E £27,996 - £34,257 pa (based on a full-time salary of £29,596 - £36,214)
You will report to the Design Manager. You will not have line-management responsibilities. You will be responsible for the management of project budgets, including adherence to procurement processes. You will supervise external designers, contractors, and placements as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the 3D design of major exhibitions, refreshes of our galleries, as well as a range of small displays for the museum.
- Develop exhibition designs from concept through to completion, producing sketches, 3D CAD and physical models, visuals, design presentations, drawing package submissions, specifications and schedules.
- Be involved in all aspects from concept and presentation, to construction on-site.
- Ensure design projects are delivered to the highest standards, in line with project timelines and budgets.
- Ensure the seamless integration of 2D graphics/interpretation into exhibition design.
- Together with the Design Manager, ensure the application of the Amgueddfa Cymru brand guidelines.
- Contribute design advice and input to exhibition projects as required.
- Manage and supervise the work of external designers and contractors.
- Manage budgets as allocated, including the management of purchase and procurement processes.
- Produce 3D build tender documents, working with the support of the Procurement team.
- Keep abreast of technical and creative developments in museum design.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
