Our client is looking for a Group Financial Controller to join their business. They are an international, private equity-backed organisation operating across multiple regions and markets. The business partners with a diverse range of organisations to provide data-driven insight, advisory, and analytical services, helping clients make better strategic and operational decisions.

With operations across several international jurisdictions, the group is continuing to scale and invest in its finance infrastructure, systems, and reporting capabilities. The finance team plays a central role in ensuring robust financial governance, high-quality reporting, and strong commercial insight to support the leadership team and investors.

The Role

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of group financial reporting, consolidation, and financial governance across the international group. The role will lead a small central finance team while working closely with regional finance teams and senior stakeholders to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial information across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the group financial reporting and consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting across multiple international entities.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process at group level, coordinating with regional finance teams to ensure consistency and quality of reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of group financial statements and management commentary, ensuring alignment with applicable accounting standards.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership, including the preparation and review of technical accounting papers and key accounting judgements.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance the group accounting policy framework, ensuring consistent application across the organisation.
  • Manage the external audit process, acting as the key contact for auditors and coordinating audit deliverables across the group.
  • Oversee intercompany accounting processes, ensuring accurate balances, reconciliations, and eliminations across the group structure.
  • Support the design and oversight of transfer pricing processes, ensuring alignment with international tax and reporting requirements.
  • Take ownership of group consolidation systems and financial reporting tools, supporting system enhancements and process improvements.
  • Drive improvements in financial controls, reporting processes, and finance transformation initiatives across the group.
  • Work closely with regional finance teams to strengthen reporting standards, controls, and performance management processes.
  • Provide financial insight and support to the CFO and senior leadership team, contributing to board and investor reporting where required.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a small central finance team, while coordinating with a wider network of international finance stakeholders.
  • Support finance-related projects, systems implementations, and process improvement initiatives, particularly in relation to reporting and consolidation.

Experience with ERP's such as SAP S/4HANA and group consolidation tools would be advantageous. Based in Central London - 2-3 days in the office.
