We’re working with a high-growth, founder-led fashion brand operating internationally across the UK, US, and Europe. This fast-paced business is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead its finance function and support continued global expansion.
The Financial Controller will take full ownership of group financial operations, delivering accurate and insightful reporting while driving process improvement and compliance. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys translating numbers into strategy, building scalable systems, and working closely with creative founders in a dynamic consumer brand environment.
The Financial Controller will:
- Lead finance operations across UK, EU, and US entities
- Own monthly management accounts, budgeting, and rolling forecasts
- Manage cashflow, working capital, FX risk, and intercompany balances
- Oversee indirect tax compliance (VAT, GST) and corporate filings across jurisdictions
- Build performance dashboards with real-time insights by channel and product line
- Partner with leadership to support decision-making across product, marketing, and ops
- Lead on year-end statutory accounts, audits, and banking/tax advisor relationships
- Improve processes, reporting systems, and automation (especially within Xero)
- Oversee and mentor a Finance Assistant to maintain strong transactional accuracy
You will need:
- Experience in fast-moving environments — ideally ecommerce, fashion, or retail
- Multi-entity accounting knowledge, including EU and US standards
- Confidence using Xero and modern cloud-based finance tools
- Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex financials
- A pragmatic, commercially curious mindset with a love for improving systems
