Web Performance & SEO Analyst

Web Performance & SEO Analyst

Full-Time No working from home possible

Nigel Frank International is working with a growing technology services business that is recruiting a Web Performance & SEO Analyst to support one of its key clients.

The role will focus entirely on monitoring, analysing and improving website performance across Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, SEO and emerging AI-powered search platforms.

You’ll help establish a clear baseline of the website’s current performance before its next phase of development. From there, you’ll create regular reports and provide practical recommendations around content, search visibility, user journeys and future website investment.

This is not simply about increasing traffic. The client needs to understand who is visiting the website, how different audiences find and navigate it, which content performs effectively and where improvements could support its wider organisational objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing

Website Analytics

  • Reviewing website traffic and acquisition across different sources, channels and campaigns.
  • Monitoring landing-page and individual-page performance.
  • Analysing user engagement, behaviour and journeys through the website.
  • Reviewing audience data, including location, device and new versus returning users.
  • Monitoring referral traffic and campaign performance through UTM tracking.
  • Assessing downloads, enquiries and other meaningful website interactions.
  • Reviewing the events and conversions currently configured within GA4.
  • Establishing a Phase 1 performance baseline against which future improvements can be measured.

Search and SEO Performance

  • Using Google Search Console to analyse the queries driving impressions and website traffic.
  • Monitoring clicks, impressions, click-through rates and average search positions.
  • Reviewing page-level organic search performance.
  • Monitoring indexing, coverage and Core Web Vitals.
  • Assessing backlink health and domain authority.
  • Comparing branded and non-branded search performance.
  • Tracking visibility and rankings across agreed themes and priority search terms.
  • Conducting competitor and share-of-search analysis.
  • Identifying technical SEO issues, content gaps and opportunities.
  • Recommending improvements for the next phase of content development.

AI Search Visibility

  • Helping establish a practical approach to measuring visibility across AI-powered search and answer platforms.
  • Monitoring identifiable referral traffic from AI platforms.
  • Assessing whether the organisation appears against priority questions and topics.
  • Reviewing how accurately its content is represented in AI-generated answers.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve crawlability and discoverability.
  • Reviewing structured data, schema and entity signals.
  • Recommending improvements to content structure and authority for both traditional and AI-mediated search.

AI search visibility is an emerging area, so you do not need to arrive with a perfect measurement model. However, you should be interested in developing a clear methodology and helping the client establish an initial baseline.

Reporting and Recommendations

  • Creating clear dashboards and regular website-performance reports.
  • Turning analytics and search data into practical recommendations.
  • Identifying which audiences are reaching the website and which content attracts them.
  • Highlighting where users leave the site or experience an unclear journey.
  • Measuring actions and outcomes rather than relying on traffic alone.
  • Providing evidence to guide future decisions around content, functionality and website investment.
  • Communicating findings clearly to technical, marketing and senior stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Experience using Google Analytics 4.
  • Experience working with Google Search Console.
  • A good understanding of SEO and organic search performance.
  • Experience analysing website traffic, landing pages and user journeys.
  • The ability to create clear dashboards or performance reports.
  • An understanding of website events, conversions and campaign tracking.
  • Exposure to technical SEO, indexing and Core Web Vitals.
  • An understanding of backlinks, keyword rankings and content performance.
  • Confidence turning data into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An analytical and commercially aware approach.
  • An interest in AI-powered search and changing online discovery behaviours.

You do not need extensive experience across every area. The business is open to someone at an early stage of their career who has a solid foundation in web analytics or SEO and is motivated to develop across the wider position.

Exposure to any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Semrush, Ahrefs, Moz, Screaming Frog or similar SEO tools.
  • Looker Studio, Power BI or other reporting platforms.
  • Content-management systems.
  • Tag management and UTM tracking.
  • Website accessibility.
  • Structured data and schema markup.
  • Competitor and share-of-search analysis.
  • AI referral and citation monitoring.
  • Content strategy or digital marketing.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary of up to £25,000.
  • Fully remote working within the UK.
  • Exposure to a varied combination of web analytics, SEO and digital-performance work.
  • The opportunity to help shape the measurement framework for the next phase of a major website.
  • Experience in the emerging area of AI search visibility.
  • Support from an established technology services business.
  • Strong development potential across web analytics, SEO, digital strategy and AI search.

If you have experience in web analytics or SEO and want to develop your career across website performance and emerging search technologies, we would be keen to hear from you.
