We're hiring a Web Developer to join a growing IT team in Newcastle, working across a broad web estate and delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that support an evolving business. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong PHP/Laravel experience who enjoys working across both back-end and front-end development in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining web applications using PHP (Laravel/Filament)
- Building responsive, user-friendly interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Designing and optimising database structures and queries (MySQL/SQLite)
- Integrating third-party APIs and internal systems
- Deploying and managing applications on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront)
- Monitoring performance and troubleshooting issues
- Contributing to code reviews, documentation and best practices
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with PHP, ideally Laravel framework
- Solid front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with exposure to React or Vue.js
- Experience working with REST APIs and databases
- Knowledge of AWS cloud services
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
