We’re partnered with a growing organisation looking to bring in a Data Engineering Manager to lead and scale their data capability. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing people leadership, delivery ownership, and hands-on technical oversight in a modern Azure environment.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for leading multiple data engineering squads, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery across a range of data and platform initiatives. This is a leadership role with real ownership—covering team development, delivery assurance, and engineering maturity. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across IT and Product, while also managing vendors and partners to make sure everything lands as expected.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience leading data engineering teams with direct line management responsibility
  • Strong track record running multiple squads/streams with predictable sprint delivery
  • Solid background in delivery assurance – planning, risk, velocity, and outcomes
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and/or Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience across Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint)
  • Strong working knowledge of Azure and Azure DevOps environments
  • Experience managing third-party vendors / delivery partners
  • Exposure to service transition and BAU handover, including L2/L3 support models
  • Evidence of scaling or maturing engineering functions
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across senior audiences
