Location: Leeds – Hybrid (3 days onsite) Type: Permanent We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead / Architect to join a growing technology business developing a complex software platform. This is a hands-on role focused on building scalable automation frameworks, improving testing practices and driving an automation-first approach across development teams. Key Responsibilities Design, build and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript . Lead improvements to automation testing processes, standards and best practices. Work closely with developers to embed testing throughout the software development lifecycle. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines. Drive improvements across API, integration and end-to-end testing. Explore opportunities to integrate AI into testing processes to improve efficiency, test coverage and automation. Mentor engineers and support the adoption of automation-first practices. Requirements Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript . Proven experience designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch. Previous experience leading automation initiatives or influencing testing strategy. Experience with API testing, CI/CD and modern software development practices. Ability to work closely with engineering teams and drive technical improvements. Experience with AI-assisted testing tools. Background in complex SaaS or enterprise software environments.
