Overview
We are supporting a business currently undergoing a company-wide digital transformation programme, including the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE & Finance & Operations. Due to the recent loss of an internal data resource, there is an immediate need for an experienced Power BI / Data Specialist to step in and establish reporting capability from the ground up. This role will play a key part in driving a performance-led culture through data, with a strong focus on delivering high-impact, actionable insights to stakeholders across the organisation.
The Role
This is a hands-on Power BI contract role with a strong emphasis on both analysis and delivery. You will be responsible for shaping reporting requirements, proposing impactful insights, and rapidly developing dashboards to support business performance monitoring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging with stakeholders to gather and define reporting requirements
- Translating business needs into clear, insightful reporting solutions
- Proactively suggesting report ideas (e.g. pipeline visibility, performance tracking, operational KPIs)
- Designing and building end-to-end Power BI dashboards and reports
- Developing data models within D365 CE to support reporting needs
- Ensuring reports are user-friendly, scalable, and configurable for different stakeholder groups
- Helping to establish best practices around reporting and performance measurement
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience as a Power BI Developer / Data Specialist
- Proven track record of delivering performance management dashboards
- Ability to work across both requirements gathering and technical delivery
- Experience building data models and reports within or alongside D365 CE
- Comfortable working in environments with low data maturity
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to challenge and propose solutions
- Experience creating clear, visually engaging dashboards for senior stakeholders
