The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a leading consultancy that is looking to appoint a Senior Business Analyst Consultant to support a major transformation programme with a prominent London Market insurance broker.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with strong stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering expertise, combined with a deep understanding of the London Market insurance sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering large-scale business and technology change initiatives, working closely with underwriting teams, operations, product owners, data specialists and senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops, requirements gathering and business analysis activities across strategic transformation programmes.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, broking and operational teams to understand current-state processes and define future-state solutions.
  • Facilitate workshops and meetings with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Produce high-quality business requirements, user stories, process maps and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyse and document end-to-end business processes and insurance data flows.
  • Support solution design by ensuring business requirements are clearly understood and translated into deliverable outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance operational efficiency and strengthen data quality.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience

We are keen to speak with Business Analysts who possess significant London Market insurance experience, ideally gained within brokers, insurers, Lloyd's syndicates or consultancy environments.

Strong knowledge across areas such as:

  • Underwriting processes and workflows
  • Risk submission and quote management
  • Policy administration
  • Delegated Authority and Coverholder business
  • Lloyd's market processes
  • Insurance placement lifecycle

Data-Focused Experience

Candidates should have a strong understanding of how data supports insurance operations, including:

  • Business data analysis
  • Data lineage and traceability
  • End-to-end data flows
  • Data mapping and transformation requirements
  • Data quality and governance
  • Assessing upstream and downstream business impacts
  • Working closely with data teams and solution architects

Please note: This is not a hands-on technical data role. We're looking for a Business Analyst who can understand, document and communicate data concepts, business impacts and data flows, rather than undertake technical development or engineering work.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Extensive Business Analysis experience within insurance transformation programmes.
  • Strong London Market insurance domain expertise.
  • Experience supporting underwriting-focused change initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Strong requirements elicitation, documentation and process mapping capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with both business and technology teams.
  • Experience within consultancy, insurer, broker or Lloyd's market environments.
  • BCS, IIBA or equivalent Business Analysis qualifications would be advantageous.

What's on Offer?

  • Up to £110,000 base salary
  • Performance-related bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days per week onsite in London
  • Opportunity to work on high-profile London Market transformation programmes
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders within a leading insurance broker
