Contract Role: Data Architect
Data Strategy & Modelling Focus | Governance & Regulatory Environment Overview
Experienced Data Architect responsible for shaping enterprise data strategy and designing scalable domain driven data models across secure cloud based environments.
Engagement Details
- 24 month contract inside IR35
- Active SC clearance required
- London based with hybrid working (3 days onsite)
- Day rate between £578 and £637.50
- Prior Banking experience is nice to have
Core Skills & Experience
- Strong background in enterprise data architecture with a focus on domain modelling and information architecture
- Deep understanding of conceptual, logical and physical data modelling approaches
- Experience designing canonical domain and analytics data models including shared and reference data patterns
- Knowledge of data governance disciplines including data quality, metadata, lineage and auditability
- Ability to define and drive data strategy aligned to business value and measurable outcomes
- Experience supporting data migration programmes including mapping, reconciliation and phased transition
Data Architecture & Strategy
- Defines enterprise data principles, standards and models aligned to wider architecture frameworks
- Builds clear data transformation roadmaps including sequencing, dependencies and incremental delivery
- Strong understanding of data ownership, stewardship and federated operating models
- Designs data architectures aligned to regulatory, security and compliance requirements including classification and controls
- Proven experience driving simplification, modernisation and innovation across enterprise data landscapes
Cloud & Platform Awareness
- Familiar with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and Spark based ecosystems
- Understands how logical data models translate into physical implementations across lakehouse and warehouse patterns
- Aware of integration patterns and the impact on governance, lineage, metadata and access control
Delivery & Stakeholder Engagement
- Works closely with business stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into scalable data products
- Communicates complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Able to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectively in complex environments
- Familiar with architecture frameworks and industry standards such as TOGAF
