My client, a growing organisation in the financial services industry, is embarking on a major transformation to become a truly data‑driven business. They are seeking an experienced Head of Data & Analytics to lead the development of an entirely new enterprise data estate and shape the long‑term data strategy from the ground up.
This is a greenfield role, giving you the rare opportunity to architect, implement, and embed a modern data platform and analytics capability with full executive sponsorship. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring data quality, governance, reporting, and insight delivery are future‑proof, scalable, and fully aligned to business strategy.

Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Define and deliver the enterprise‑wide data strategy in alignment with the organisation’s growth roadmap.
- Lead the creation of a target data architecture to meet short‑, medium‑ and long‑term needs.
- Drive the design, vendor selection, and implementation of a modern Microsoft‑focused enterprise data solution.
- Champion data literacy and embed a data‑driven culture across all teams.
- Build the entire data environment from scratch — including ingestion workflows, integrations, data models, and reporting layers.
- Ensure the platform enables high‑quality reporting for portfolio management, performance, risk, and regulatory areas.
- Implement best‑practice approaches for automation, efficiency, and scalable analytics.
Data Governance & Quality
- Establish governance frameworks that ensure data accuracy, consistency, compliance, and regulatory alignment.
- Oversee core data sets, ensuring their integrity across systems and business functions.
- Identify risks in data processes and implement strong quality controls.
Reporting & Insight
- Deliver high‑quality dashboards, MI, and analytics services to senior leaders and decision‑making bodies.
- Translate complex data sets into clear, actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions.
- Partner with investment, risk, and operational teams to embed performance and data‑driven insights.
Leadership & Growth
- Initially operate as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build a high‑performing data and reporting team as the function matures.
- Partner closely with ExCo, board‑level stakeholders, and external vendors.
Requirements
- Experience in a senior data role within financial services, investments, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of delivering enterprise data platforms, ideally using Microsoft technologies (Azure, SQL, Power BI, Fabric, etc.).
- Strong understanding of data governance, regulatory standards, and data quality frameworks.
- Hands-on proficiency in data tooling (SQL, Python, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Ability to influence at senior/executive level and communicate complex data concepts clearly.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
