- Nigel Frank is working with a growing UK organisation to recruit an
AI & Automation Engineer for its established Data, Innovation and Delivery function.
This is an opportunity to help shape how AI and automation are used across the business.
You'll develop practical solutions that improve day-to-day operations, automate processes and enable teams to work more effectively.
The role has a stronger focus on AI and intelligent automation than a traditional Power Platform position.
You'll work with tools including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft 365 Copilot and monday. com, while exploring the use of large and smaller language models for specific business tasks.
You don't need to be a highly specialised machine-learning engineer.
The business is looking for someone who understands how AI can solve practical problems, has hands on automation experience and is excited to develop their expertise further.
- What you'll be doing
- Designing and delivering AI-powered automations that solve genuine business problems.
- Building solutions using Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Microsoft 365 Copilot and related technologies.
- Exploring the use of LLMs and task-specific AI models across larger business datasets.
- Improving automation across monday. com, which is used for project, team, work and resource management.
- Developing integrations between monday. com, Microsoft technologies and other business systems.
- Supporting existing solutions through BAU, operational improvements and ongoing maintenance.
- Working with stakeholders to understand the full scope of a problem rather than simply building what has initially been requested.
- Assessing whether AI, automation, Power Platform or another approach is best suited to each requirement.
- Working independently while collaborating with specialists across data, reporting, engineering, governance and project delivery.
- Following appropriate security, governance and responsible-AI principles.
What we're looking for
- Commercial experience delivering automation or AI-enabled solutions.
- Hands-on experience with technologies such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Automate or Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- A practical understanding of using AI models or agents to complete specific business tasks.
- Experience working with APIs, integrations, workflows or business-process automation.
- Some Power Platform experience, although this does not need to be your primary specialism.
- The ability to understand business requirements, challenge assumptions and recommend an appropriate solution.
- Confidence working independently and taking ownership from discovery through to delivery and support.
Previous monday. com experience would be beneficial but isn't essential.
You must, however, be comfortable learning the platform and developing automation across its project, team and resource-management capabilities.
Location
The position can be based from offices across the UK, with an average expectation of approximately two days per week at your nearest location.
Available regions include
- Oxfordshire
- London and Surrey
- Birmingham and the Midlands
- Bristol and the South West
- Cardiff and South Wales
- Manchester, Cheshire and the North West

- Salary of up to £65,000
- Performance-related annual bonus
- 25 days' annual leave, plus bank holidays and your birthday
- Employer pension contribution
- Life assurance
- Training and professional development
- Hybrid and flexible working
- Additional wellbeing and lifestyle benefits
This is an excellent opportunity for an automation professional who wants to move further into AI, take ownership of meaningful projects and develop within a supportive, multidisciplinary technology team.
