Senior Databricks Data Engineer - London - £85K
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on Databricks experience to join a growing data platform team.
You'll play a key role in designing, building and optimising production-grade data pipelines across Databricks, Spark and Delta Lake, while helping shape the engineering standards and architecture behind the wider data platform.
What you'll be doing:
- Build and optimise scalable Databricks/Spark data pipelines across batch and streaming workloads.
- Develop Lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake and medallion architecture.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, governance and security across the platform.
- Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts and Product teams to deliver high-quality data products.
- Contribute to engineering standards, code reviews, tooling and continuous improvement.
- Support platform optimisation, including performance and cloud cost management.
What we're looking for:
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Engineer working with Databricks in production.
- Excellent knowledge of Apache Spark, Delta Lake and Databricks Workflows.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Understanding of Lakehouse architecture, ETL/ELT and distributed data processing.
- Databricks certification highly desirable.
Expectation will be to be in office 1 day per week and offers a salary of around £85,000 plus a small bonus and benefits.
