Databricks Engineer / Architect
6-Month Contract | Inside IR35 | £450-£600 per day Remote / Hybrid (UK) Global Consultancy
We're supporting a global consultancy on the search for an experienced Databricks Engineer / Architect to join a major data transformation programme.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can operate across the full data lifecycle, from designing scalable architectures through to building and optimising data pipelines. The successful contractor will be a true Databricks specialist, capable of combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable, cloud-based data architectures using Databricks.
Build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
Lead the development of modern Lakehouse and data platform solutions.
Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to define data strategy and architecture.
Establish best practices across data engineering, governance, performance optimisation and platform design.
Support data platform modernisation and transformation initiatives.
Provide technical leadership while remaining heavily involved in hands-on delivery.
Required Experience
Strong commercial experience with Databricks in both engineering and architecture capacities.
Proven track record designing and building end-to-end data platforms.
Expertise in data pipeline development, ETL/ELT processes and data integration.
Strong Python and SQL skills.
Experience with modern cloud data architectures and Lakehouse methodologies.
Ability to engage with stakeholders, gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Consultancy or client-facing experience is highly desirable.
