We're opening the very first TentBox store – an owned and operated space where people can come and properly experience what TentBox is all about. This is a huge milestone for us, and we're looking for people who want to be part of it from day one. As a Retail Product Specialist, you'll be the face of TentBox at our brand new Reading store. At the heart of this role, you're someone who loves getting hands‑on – showing people our products, sparking that feeling of adventure, and helping them picture themselves out there in the wild with a TentBox on the roof. You're not a pushy seller; you're someone who genuinely loves the outdoors and can bring that energy into every conversation. You’ll be based at our new Reading store, with initial training taking place at our Southampton HQ ahead of the opening.

What you’ll do

  • Be the face of TentBox in store – welcoming people in, showing them around our tents and accessories, and helping them find the perfect setup for their adventures.
  • Guide customers through everything they need to know about life with a TentBox – from fitting and compatibility to getting the most out of every trip.
  • Handle payments and help customers through the buying journey with confidence and warmth.
  • Bring the TentBox lifestyle to life through hands‑on demonstrations – making it easy for people to imagine themselves out there.

Supporting the Wider Team

  • Respond to customer queries across phone and digital channels, with support from the wider team.
  • Resolve delivery‑related questions and follow our internal processes and SOPs.
  • Develop deep product knowledge so every conversation feels natural and genuinely helpful.
  • Represent TentBox with the warmth, enthusiasm and expertise our community expects.

What success looks like

  • Customers leave the store feeling genuinely inspired and confident about their TentBox purchase.
  • You've built strong product knowledge and can answer questions naturally, without needing to refer back constantly.
  • You're consistently delivering a warm, memorable in‑store experience that people talk about.
  • You're hitting your personal goals and contributing to a strong season for the store.
  • The wider team trusts you to represent TentBox brilliantly, on your own initiative.

What we’re looking for

  • Someone who genuinely loves the outdoors and can talk about adventure with real enthusiasm.
  • A natural with people – warm, confident, and able to build rapport quickly.
  • Hands‑on and practical – happy to get stuck in with product demos and physical set‑ups.
  • Commercially aware – you understand that great experiences drive great outcomes.
  • Self‑motivated and reliable, especially when working independently in store.
  • Available to work weekdays and weekends and throughout the summer season (15 June – 30 September) – this is essential.
  • Happy to come to our HQ in Southampton for onboarding and training ahead of the store opening in June.

Tools & skills

  • Comfortable with point‑of‑sale or payment systems (full training provided).
  • Confident communicator, both face‑to‑face and via phone or digital channels.
  • Any background in outdoor gear, vehicles, camping, or adventure travel is a big plus – but not essential.

What we offer

  • 25 days annual leave (pro‑rata).
  • Staff and Friends and Family Discount.
  • Long Term TentBox Loan.
  • A front‑row seat at the launch of TentBox's first‑ever owned store – something genuinely historic for us.

This is initially a fixed term contract from June to September.
