A technical-commercial role responsible for growing adoption of Tensar proprietary mechanical soil stabilisation technology across civil engineering market sectors, centered around temporary (haul roads, compounds, crane/piling platforms) and permanent (public/private road pavements) works applications. You will engage closely with clients, consultant engineers and contractors at each stage of design and commercial bidding process to develop a robust pipeline of specification/value led sales opportunities that will deliver sales results.
Key Responsibilities:
- This role will require a specification led sales approach through early engagement and long-term relationship building, offering consistent high level technical support and proactive Continued Professional Development presentations.
- An important bridge between internal design department and commercial, building relationships at all levels in the project chain, contributing at project meetings, sharing practical knowledge on Tensar product systems and able to source relevant project details for entry to internal design workflow.
- It will be essential to communicate technical proposals in a clear and simple manner, adapting style and proposal aligned to project/customer specific needs that will maximise sales opportunity and conversion.
- A self-motivated nature to track projects through design feasibility, tender process, and contractor award stage to secure order placement – persistence and ability to sell on value rather than price is critical.
- Day to day management of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to ensure pipeline of project opportunities are regularly tracked to provide accurate and transparent sales forecasts, whilst identifying market trends and activity to target growth in the region and nurture repeat business, working together with local distributor partners to serve key contractor accounts.
Experience and Qualifications:
- BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering or related degree.
- Experience in consultative technical selling based on specifications and value.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to identify new sales opportunities.
- Experience in a related Civil Engineering sales role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where prioritisation of tasks is essential.
- Active membership of relevant organisation/institute such as ICE, BGA, TwF (desirable).
- Awareness of Tensar, our products and solutions, and how our work contributes to the delivery of Civil Engineering projects worldwide.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Clear confident and credible communicator with strong presentation skills, both online and in-person.
- Self-motivated with a focus on achieving sector targets.
