For over 80 years, Tenovus Cancer Care has been Wales’ leading cancer charity — the first place people turn when cancer changes their lives. We’re committed to listening to the real experiences of people affected by cancer in Wales to drive the changes that make a difference. Every year, our dedicated team of nurses, counsellors, and benefits advisors support over 2,000 people diagnosed with cancer in Wales whilst our choirs and mobile units also provide support in the community. Backed by more than 1,000 volunteers and 228 passionate staff, and with an annual turnover of £9.6 million, we’re a trusted voice and a vital lifeline for thousands.

With more people living with cancer than ever before, our work has never been more needed — and we’re looking for a terrific new Chief Executive to lead us into our next chapter. This is an inspiring opportunity to join Tenovus at a pivotal moment. As we complete our current five-year strategy and begin a strategic review, you’ll shape our future direction, influence national conversations, and ensure our services continue to meet the evolving needs of those we support.

Our focus on holistic care and tackling inequality has already delivered real impact. Our profile is growing, our advocacy is influencing policy, and our commitment to those affected by cancer is stronger than ever. We’re looking for a visionary and courageous leader — someone strategic, creative, and unafraid to take well-considered risks. You’ll bring a proven track record in senior leadership and a flair for income generation or fundraising.

While experience in health or the cancer sector is welcome, it’s not essential — what matters most is that you understand the challenges we face and bring the drive to meet them. You’ll be supported by a strong, expert leadership team, and you’ll bring the clarity, compassion and ambition to unite people around a bold vision. Financial acumen, first-rate communication skills, and an inclusive leadership style are all essential — above all, you’ll share our values and our commitment to improving lives.

If you understand the landscape of the third sector in Wales and want to make a lasting difference for people affected by cancer, we’d love to hear from you.

Closing date: 10am Monday 16th June 2025
