Work in our Welfare Benefits Advice Team
We're looking for an experienced Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our Benefits Advice AQS accredited team on a Welsh government funded full time basis over the next 18 months.
We're already making huge strides in proudly delivering Welfare Benefits Advice across the North West Wales area. We're looking forward to welcoming your current welfare benefits expertise as part of Wales leading cancer charity to continue this important Welfare Benefits advice service that we know improves the quality of life for those affected by cancer.
Make a Difference
Working in a health focussed environment isn't essential but what is essential is that you know your stuff in this specialist area. And, importantly you've practically applied it with service users and demonstrate great results.
We know finances are hit hard when there's a cancer diagnosis. That's where you step in. You'll be building relationships with community partners, generating welfare benefit advice referrals across the Health Board and managing cases and supporting a range of welfare benefit clients who've a cancer diagnosis. You'll be our professional, knowledgeable and caring welfare benefits expert so we continue being there when we need to be for everyone.
You'll really be making a difference at a crucial point in someone's cancer journey in everything you do. You'll be there to personally and expertly advise and assess needs when it comes to making sure people affected by cancer across the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board area receive their entitlements in relation to their cancer diagnosis.
As an experienced Welfare Benefits Advisor, it's an opportunity to make a tangible difference across a host of oncology areas such as breast cancer, colorectal cancer, gynaecological cancer and lung cancer. You'll be able to work independently and build strong referral relationships within the hospitals to help you in delivering your service.
Putting you on the Map
Most of the role is home based but you'll need to be within commutable distance of the Betsi Cadwalader Northwest Wales region to do the job. Willingness to be mobile is key where for example, you'll be expected to work a minimum of a day fortnightly across the Betsi Cadwaladr area with a focus on client engagement and relationship building at Ysbyty Gwynedd.
There's a need to work at our Cardiff City Centre Head Office sometimes too, for example for occasional team meetings or ad hoc general training and induction requirements.
We'll be holding in person interviews with progressed candidates on the 4 th of November at Colwyn Bay.
