Tenon FM UK, part of Tenon Group, is a major Facilities Management provider. We are expanding nationally and strengthening our position as a leading provider of integrated facilities management. We partner with clients across the UK, delivering cleaning, soft services, and wider FM solutions that create safe, efficient, and sustainable workplaces. We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Professional to help drive this growth, focusing on Cleaning / Soft FM contracts valued above £1m.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Lead the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract handover, targeting public and private sector clients with potential for £1m+ annual revenue.
- Identify and pursue national FM opportunities, building a robust pipeline through networking, tenders, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop strong relationships with senior decision-makers and position Tenon as a trusted, strategic partner.
- Collaborate with operations, commercial, and mobilisation teams to create deliverable, innovative proposals.
- Carry out market analysis to identify opportunities within upcoming sectors, focusing on sustainable and flexible FM solutions.
- Support long-term client relationships to drive repeat business and expansions, targeting growth in sustainable FM services.
- Complete understanding of tender documentation, including bid preparation for national tenders.
- Work with the cost modeller on pricing and proposal models and produce proposals, PQQs including costings, schedules, and sales documentation.
Key Skills
- Proven history of winning & maintaining national contracts valued at £1m+ within cleaning or soft FM.
- Strong commercial acumen, including financial modelling for bids and negotiation skills for complex contracts.
- Experience of managing multi-stage tender processes through to award.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain excellent client and prospect relationships to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and conversion.
- Ability to travel nationally; must have a full, clean driving licence (UK).
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to produce presentations, tenders, and proposals documents.
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to confidently deliver presentations when tendering for new business and building relationships.
