Overview
We are recruiting a motivated, reliable and customer-focused Cleaner / Cleaning Operative to join our team based at Eastbourne, 66 Hammonds Dr, Eastbourne BN23 6PW.
Job
Type: Permanent - Part Time.

Hours: 12 Hrs per week, 4 Hrs per day, Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday 07:00–11:00 or Friday, Saturday & Sunday 07:00–11:00.
Start
Date: Immediately after successful vetting (usually up to 4 weeks).
Overview of
Role: Ensure assigned areas are clean, presentable and serviceable at all times; present and conduct yourself professionally in line with company policies, procedures, guidelines and values; perform cleaning and waste collection duties within designated premises.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general cleaning duties as instructed within the premises, subject to change.
- Follow custody cleaning rota in line with the contract specification.
- Carry out body spill cleans up to 18 inches in size in accordance with infection prevention control training.
- Carry out routine cleaning of trap cells and report issues related to client not flushing after use.
- Follow instructions of custody sergeant in case of emergency cleaning of cells.
- Understand site Health and Safety information; read and abide by site rules and regulations.
- Adhere to site security rules and procedures, including signing in and out of keys during every shift.
- Handle and use cleaning chemicals only per manufacturer instructions after reading COSHH sheets.
- Respond positively to reasonable instructions from a Manager or client.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop and dry as directed; replenish consumables and maintain stock levels.
- Apply appropriate cleaning agents as per floor type, condition and manufacturers’ recommendations.
- Empty general and recycling waste bins, replace bin liners and remove waste to designated locations.
- Keep mirrors and glass smear-free; dust accessible areas and clean as directed.
- Complete periodic tasks or other tasks as directed by line manager; report faults, breakages, accidents or substandard cleaning requirements.
- Keep cleaning cupboards tidy and equipment clean and serviceable; perform easily remedied cleaning tasks outside your area (e. g., pick up litter in corridors).
- Comply with safe working practices, use warning signage, wear appropriate footwear and PPE where required.
- Carry out duties safely and adhere to Health and Safety legislation, including warning signs for tasks with risk to others.
- Complete company administration in a timely and effective manner; attend meetings and other company activities as required.
- Ensure company property is kept safe and in good condition; perform any other duty reasonably required by the Company.
