Tennial Personnel are recruiting MIG Welders to join a sports equipment manufacturing business based in Clopton, Suffolk. This is a temporary-to-permanent role, with the potential for a permanent contract following a successful 12-week probation period. The role involves carrying out precision MIG welding on small fabricated components used in the manufacture of sports equipment. Unlike heavy industrial welding, this position focuses on detailed, high-quality fabrication, with material thicknesses typically up to 5mm.
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM, Friday 7:45AM – 4:00PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out precision MIG welding on small steel components and assemblies
- Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and production specifications
- Produce high-quality welds to the required standards with a strong attention to detail
- Prepare materials and components prior to welding, including cleaning and positioning
- Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and accuracy
- Operate welding equipment safely and maintain equipment in good working order
- Support with light fabrication and assembly duties where required
- Follow production schedules and work efficiently to meet daily targets
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Report any quality concerns, equipment faults, or safety issues promptly
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth production operations
