Tennial Personnel are recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Cook/Chef to join a friendly, community-focused country pub based in Framsden. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with the potential for a permanent position and progression opportunities for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and experienced cook or chef looking for a role where they can have a genuine influence on the kitchen and help shape its future.
The successful candidate will take an active role in developing and improving the menu, introducing new ideas, creating fresh dishes and putting their own stamp on the food offering, while continuing to deliver quality, wholesome pub classics. The role would suit someone who is passionate about food, enjoys working independently and wants the opportunity to bring their own creativity and ideas to a welcoming country pub.
Hours & Pay: Approximately 25 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality pub meals
- Take an active role in developing and improving the menu
- Introduce new dishes, ideas and seasonal specials
- Bring creativity and fresh ideas to the kitchen
- Help create an attractive, varied and appealing menu
- Order and manage food supplies and stock
- Carry out food preparation and ensure ingredients are stored correctly
- Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness and food safety
- Supervise sessional kitchen staff and work positively alongside volunteers
- Run kitchen service independently when required
- Manage preparation, washing-up and general kitchen duties during quieter periods
- Complete kitchen clear-down following service
- Ensure food is prepared and served to a consistently high standard
- Work efficiently to ensure smooth and timely food service
Skills Required:
- Previous experience working as a Cook or Chef within a pub, café, restaurant or similar environment
- A genuine passion for food and cooking
- Creative approach with the ability to develop new menu ideas
- Confident preparing and cooking a range of pub-style meals
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen
- Positive and flexible approach to working as part of a small team
- Reliable, hardworking and professional attitude
- Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
- Ability to commute reliably to a rural location
Qualifications Required:
- Previous professional cooking experience is essential
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification is preferred, but candidates willing to obtain this will also be considered
