Tennial Personnel is seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Nursery Manager to join our client’s prestigious nursery and arboretum in Campsea Ashe. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with an earlier finish during winter months. Weekend work is required on a rota basis from April to October. The position starts as temporary to permanent, with the opportunity for a permanent role following a 12-week probation period.

Specialising in growing rare plants in small quantities, they manage everything from propagation to specimen sizes, with container sizes reaching up to 1,000 litres. Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Nursery Manager in implementing growth and production plans to ensure the nursery thrives.

Manage daily horticultural tasks, including weeding, irrigation, feeding, pruning, pest and disease control, while maintaining accurate records.

Oversee the preparation of plants to the highest standards for customer collection, dispatch, hire, or specialist plant shows.

Lead, coach, and mentor your team to produce exceptional plants, while actively participating in day-to-day tasks as needed.

Skills Required

Enthusiasm for a wide range of plants and a comprehensive knowledge of plant genera, including familiarity with botanic plant names.

Experience leading a team, with excellent people management and organisational skills

Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle large plants

An understanding of environmental issues and how they align with the business\’s goals

Qualifications Required
Minimum 2 years in a commercial growing nursery

PA1 and PA6 certificates are desirable
