The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Upper Cumberland is accepting applications for the position of Practical Nursing Instructor. This position will serve multiple campuses until the Bledsoe County Campus is completed, at which time the primary assignment will be at the Bledsoe County location. The Practical Nursing Instructor will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Practical Nursing and collaborate closely with Practical Nursing faculty. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high standard of personal and professional ethics and possess a sincere interest in teaching and the nursing profession. A criminal background check is required for the selected applicant.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate Degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Current TN Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of 3 years current hospital and/or nursing home experience.
- Previous teaching experience a plus.
General Duties:
- Teach full course curriculum; develop course outlines, lesson plans, lectures, and exams for multiple campuses.
- Supervise student’s clinical experiences as scheduled.
- Provide individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required.
- Maintain confidential, accurate, and complete student records.
- Participate in recruitment of students and placement of graduates.
- Maintain ongoing competency required for RN licensure by participation in continuing education opportunities.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and according to salary guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents.
