The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

Responsible for the smooth implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production tooling and production wear components. The role combines tooling design and procurement with hands‑on toolroom support and leadership, ensuring tooling meets customer, manufacturing, safety, cost, and quality requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all required tooling drawings are provided in a timely manner and controlled to the latest revision.
  • Design tooling for manufacturability, cost reduction, longevity, mistake proofing, and operator ergonomics.
  • Provide CAD programs and technical support for tooling manufacture.
  • Liaise with customers, Programme Managers, and internal teams to agree tooling designs and tolerances.
  • Outsource new tooling, obtain quotations, manage orders, and maintain audit‑ready records using the company ERP system.
  • Support New Product Introduction and FMEA activities to embed mistake proofing at design stage.
  • Maintain, repair, and replace production tooling and associated equipment.
  • Provide rapid response to tooling breakdowns to support production continuity.
  • Inspect tooling to ensure non‑conforming tools are not released to production.
  • Maintain tooling traceability, inspection, and production measurement instrument calibration systems.
  • Lead toolroom activities as required and provide on‑the‑job training for apprentices and new employees.
  • Procure raw materials and consumables for tooling repair & manufacture.
  • Maintain acceptable work order backlogs and requisitions within site systems.
  • Apply 5S, safety, and environmental standards at all times in line with internal P3.
