My Client is looking for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join their team to keep the fleet running in Worcestershire. If you're interested in the below role then please apply for the position - please only apply for the job if you have the experience listed below!

Rate: £28 per hour (Paid via Umbrella)

Location: Worcestershire

Hours: Shift work, alternating each week. Early shift one week and late shift the following. 6:30am - 6pm.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team to deliver an extensive programme of vehicle maintenance, repair, inspection and examination. They will work to ensure compliance with statutory legislation, the legal requirements of the Councils Operators Licence, DVSA requirements and internal Council policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • City & Guilds Level 3 qualification in Heavy Motor Vehicle Engineering, or equivalent
  • Qualified to VOSA standards for HGV inspections and tests
  • Qualified MOT Nominated Tester class 4,5,7 to support the full-time MOT retail and Taxi Nominated Tester.
  • Experience of conducting maintenance, inspection, repair and test services for a diverse fleet including vehicles such as light vehicle van/tippers, small plant machines, sweepers, waste tankers, and large refuse vehicles.
  • Experience of performing MIG welding; gas and electric welding. (Preferably a coded welder, but not essential).
  • Experience of hydraulic and pneumatic diagnosis/repair
  • Possess a full LGV Class 2 Category C Licence
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to meet strict deadlines
