We are working with a well-established, reputable automotive workshop on behalf of our client who is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their growing team. The Role

As a Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, you will be responsible for carrying out high-standard diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and MOT testing across a wide range of vehicle makes and models. You will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are safe, compliant, and performing at their best. You will work within a structured, supportive workshop environment where efficiency, safety, and quality are central to day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out MOT testing in line with DVSA standards, including brakes, emissions, steering, suspension, lights, and safety systems
  • Perform diagnostic assessments using modern diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Complete servicing and routine maintenance including oil changes, filters, fluids, belts, and inspections
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide range of vehicle systems
  • Accurately record inspection results, repairs, and service information on workshop systems
  • Communicate clearly with service advisors and (where required) customers regarding findings and repair recommendations
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant workshop environment at all times
  • Stay up to date with vehicle technology, diagnostic methods, and MOT regulation changes
  • Work collaboratively with the wider workshop team to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a workshop environment
  • Valid MOT Tester certification (Class 4 essential)
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems

  • Experience using diagnostic equipment and workshop systems
