Senior Consultant (Assistant Manager), VAT, Tax Advisory and Compliance
Join the UK’s market-leading restructuring tax team and make a real difference on high-profile, dynamic transactions. Our Restructuring Services Tax team specializes in providing tax advice on restructuring financially distressed businesses.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex restructuring processes, including insolvency appointments, debt-for-equity swaps, schemes of arrangement, and M&A processes. The team has a strong track record in leading UK’s largest restructuring projects and is seeking a VAT specialist at the assistant manager or manager level to expand capabilities and develop new market opportunities. The position involves advisory and compliance work across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising insolvency practitioners on VAT consequences during insolvency processes;
- Providing VAT advice to companies, lenders, and stakeholders on restructuring transactions;
- Liaising with HMRC on technical and compliance queries;
- Responding to VAT queries from internal teams;
- Preparing VAT reports and advising on submissions to tax authorities;
- Supporting business development and relationship building;
- Contributing to technical training and development;
- Collaborating with wider teams to improve processes and controls;
- Drafting indirect tax thought leadership pieces.
Key Skills & Experience
- CTA or equivalent qualification preferred;
- Strong UK VAT technical expertise;
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills;
- Ability to perform under pressure.
Prior experience in transactions or insolvency is advantageous but not essential.
