The Reputation Strategy and Research team sits within the Strategic Communications division at Teneo. We help our clients take a strategic approach to reputation, so they can win the trust their business needs. We design processes that help clients make defining strategic choices about reputation and build the positioning, narrative and communications strategy they need. We develop cutting‑edge research techniques to inform these decisions, identifying priority audiences and the most persuasive approaches. Our approach is audience‑led and evidence‑based, using research and insight at every stage of our projects.

We help organisations to:

  • Determine where audiences stand on client‑critical issues and what drives their perceptions
  • Define the shape of key audience segments, gaining a deeper understanding of where they are, what they like, and how to reach them
  • Identify and unpack the reputational positioning required to achieve client objectives
  • Devise strategies to help clients reach their positioning by focusing on the arguments that influence both perception and behaviour.

We are looking for an experienced researcher who has an interest in developing a career in reputation and trust strategy, whilst continuing to draw on quant and qual research. Confidence in managing all aspects of the quantitative research process, including supplier management, sample specs, survey writing, data specs and reading data tables.

Ability to analyse primary quantitative data using Excel, draw out the most interesting insights, and weave them into logical and compelling stories with clear strategic imperatives.

Ability to manage and moderate qualitative research, including focus groups, and depth interviews. (N.B. We are open to applications from candidates whose experience is largely quantitative, if you have some training and / or experience of qualitative research).

Having a theoretical understanding of statistical analyses techniques, such as significance testing, regression, segmentation and conjoint, and when to use them.

Experience in end‑to‑end management of large‑scale quant and qual research projects.

Ability to understand the challenges our clients face and make relevant strategic recommendations based on in‑depth analyses of audience research.

Experience in creating compelling and concise presentations of complex data for senior internal colleagues or external clients that you present in conjunction with your colleagues.

Ability to develop a research proposal or plan in response to questions asked by team leaders and other senior colleagues.

Ability to be the day‑to‑day liaison with clients, understanding how their priorities may change, setting clear expectations, reporting back on progress and key deliverables, and ensuring that team leaders are aware of any potential issues.

Ability to manage and support junior colleagues on a range of research tasks, including conducting desk research, ensuring they are thoroughly briefed and understand what is expected.

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office and an acute attention to detail.
