We are currently recruiting for a Personal Assistant (PA) on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful applicant must be available to start by Tuesday 7th April 2026. A Personal Assistant at Teneo plays an integral role supporting senior business leaders and their internal sector team and clients.

The PA is responsible for actively managing the Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals diary and mailbox. They are able to pre‑empt issues or problems before they arise, working closely with the Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals to find solutions. They are empowered to make decisions on behalf of the Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals and will respond to emails where necessary, providing a point person for when their assigned person is unavailable. PAs are also responsible for building relationships with counterparts at client organisations and across the Teneo network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Is a point of contact when the Managing Director/Senior Managing Director/Principal is unavailable – dealing with very senior personnel on their behalf.
  • Holds key relationships with counterparts EAs/PAs at client offices and builds knowledge of key clients.
  • Manages business‑sensitive information in a professional manner and maintains highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Understands the role goes beyond the traditional working day, including having to support Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals in evenings and weekends or when they are travelling or working with overseas teams.
  • Coordinating a sector team, organising regular meetings to keep track of targets and distributing notes/actions afterwards.
  • Organising team events and managing the team budget, looking after any team admin.
  • Scheduling both internal and external meetings, booking meeting rooms liaising with reception and organising catering where required.
  • Completes timesheets, credit card statements and expenses on their behalf.
  • Supports other PAs and EAs during times of leave or sickness and creates a supportive and efficient environment for the wider support team to work in.
  • Is flexible and adaptable in taking on new tasks or supporting other areas of the business when required.
  • Leads by example, including demonstrating teamwork with colleagues and participating in support team meetings or events to enhance the office environment.
  • Demonstrates a collegiate and collaborative style, actively getting to know peers across the consultancy and using this to better understand all areas of our offer.
  • Supports a learning culture and plays an active role in sharing knowledge and insight, as well as attending relevant training.
  • Is committed and enthusiastic and creates an environment which is client‑centric, focused and reflects the importance of our relentless focus on clients.
Proactive Management:
  • Creates a positive and highly professional atmosphere with a can‑do attitude, always focused on pre‑empting issues/problems and being solutions‑focused.
  • Looks ahead and helps prepare Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals for upcoming events or meetings and keeps a day and week‑ahead view.
  • Responsible for the proactive management of inbox and calendar for Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals.
  • Anticipates diary/calendar changes and responds accordingly, including anticipating necessary pre‑brief or debrief meetings.
  • Responds to emails and is empowered to make decisions on behalf of Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals.
  • Sources information/documents and pre‑brief material from relevant sources ahead of meetings to prepare the Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals.
  • Actively finds solutions to enable the Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals to complete tasks or attend meetings.
  • Supports senior leaders directly with their clients and teams and where necessary providing administrative, presentation or research support to ensure client projects can be delivered at times of time pressure or resource constraints.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Has extensive experience supporting business leaders in senior management.
  • Complex event management and diary management, keeping MDs and SMDs abreast of key dates and project timelines.
  • Managing a diverse and varied workload subject to frequent change.
  • Becomes quickly familiar with the Teneo brand and quality guidelines/IT systems & kit, administrative processes and Teneo internal systems.
  • Develops high quality documents i.e. credentials/agendas/letters.
  • Experience within another consulting or professional service firm.
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Takes an advisory role on company policies and procedures and has in-depth knowledge of the different business practices, leadership teams and specialist skills, knowing who to go to for what.
  • Assists with the project management of Managing Directors/Senior Managing Directors/Principals day‑to‑day projects and work and helps them by developing timelines, bringing in required resources or skills and ensuring the smooth‑running of the project.
  • Supervisory or management experience would be beneficial.
