Join the UK’s market leading restructuring and advisory tax team and make a real difference on a range of high profile and dynamic transactions, advisory projects and complex insolvencies. The Teneo Tax Team specialises in providing tax advice on the restructuring of financially distressed businesses as well as advisory services as part of our rapidly growing capital advisory business. They have built a fantastic track record in recent years, leading on some of the UK’s largest and most complex restructuring processes.
These include insolvency appointments such as well known company administrations, liquidations and receiverships as well as debt-for-equity swaps, schemes of arrangement and M&A processes. The variety of work really stands out, as does the friendly and supportive nature of the team. The team has a great mix of UK and international transactions work and is looking to recruit a VAT specialist at Director level to build on the existing business capability and target a number of exciting developments in our key markets. This role is a combination of advisory and oversight of compliance across a broad spectrum of business sectors. This is a unique opportunity to get involved. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the effective delivery of indirect tax projects, ensuring technical excellence in a complex commercial environment
- Mentor and develop junior team members
- Contribute to winning new work by building and maintaining client relationships (including internal stakeholders) with support of the wider tax team
- Keep up to date with indirect tax legislation and practical changes and assist in the technical development of the team
- Responsible for managing team members to meet project deadlines and HMRC liaison where appropriate
- Risk management
Key Skills & Experience
- CTA qualified with excellent VAT technical and analytical skills
- Broad UK VAT technical knowledge/experience
- Strong partial exemption, insolvency and M&A experience is very useful
- A commitment to team working
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Ability to build strong client relationships, both internal and external
- Existing strong client and market relationships
