This is a unique opportunity for a motivated Associate Director to join the Data Analytics practice at Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, with a focus on supporting our Financial Advisory business. The successful candidate will be a driven data analytics professional who is seeking to join a fast-growing team which offers unparalleled opportunities for personal growth and promotion. Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex analytics engagements and discrete workstreams whilst collaborating closely with a range of industry leading specialists across different teams.
- Solve complex client problems using a variety of data analytics technologies and techniques including but not limited to: data processing and engineering, statistical analysis, data visualisation, machine learning & AI, simulation and optimisation techniques.
- Provide solid analytics delivery and work stream management across the whole analytics project life cycle: Scoping, Design, Develop, Test and Deliver.
- Provide quality & risk management and project oversight across multiple data analytics workstreams or projects, including review and challenge of analytics approaches, outputs and results.
- Lead Business Development and analytics proposition development activities alongside Directors and Managing Directors.
- Handle day-to-day liaison with client teams, empathising with client issues and escalating concerns where appropriate.
- Lead on presentations of conclusions confidently and engagingly and/or present the output to the client.
- Play an active role in the capability development of the Data Analytics team and coaching of junior team members.
Key Skills & Experience
- 7+ years of data analytics experience preferably within a professional services company, consultancy or investment bank.
- Substantial experience in business diagnostics and delivering data analytics solutions across a variety of business problems and industries.
- Proven experience in applying analytics in a financial advisory setting, preferably covering one or more of the following: Financial performance improvement, cost reduction and corporate turnaround support.
- Identifying working capital and other cash flow improvements.
- Supporting corporate insolvencies, voluntary arrangements (CVA) or special administration regimes (SAR) through data analytics.
- Excellent technical expertise and proven ability to deliver across a number of technologies and techniques, covering at least the following: Data Manipulation and ETL, Data visualisation and dashboard development using tools such as PowerBi or Tableau, Statistical analysis, AI and machine learning.
- Hands-on coding experience preferably in SQL, Python or R.
- Experience in leading business development activities, proposition development and bidding for work.
- Demonstrate an effective approach to time management and the ability to work to tight deadlines with potentially limited data sets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly around the ability to communicate complex ideas and approaches effectively to a non-technical audience.
- Experience coaching and mentoring others.
- Ambitious, with a desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial culture.
- Be client focussed with the ability to establish strong, lasting working relationships with clients.
