Your role encompasses several critical tasks. You are entrusted with delivering significant technology and business change initiatives that propel Thames’ progress toward achieving business‑area goals and desired outcomes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead both internal teams and third‑party collaborators, employing a combination of line management and matrix management approaches.
- Identify, engage and manage direct and indirect stakeholders appropriately, in the context of their role, up to department head.
- Work with the Programme Manager and Head of Portfolio to support the ongoing development of the PM team, sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Help lead the adoption of agile principles, practices and cultural changes to improve how Thames Water delivers change across the organisation.
- Identify, assess, and manage risks effectively, utilising project governance to provide visibility/escalate as appropriate.
- Create and maintain project cost models covering actual, accrual, and forecast – challenging costs to drive value.
- Review project closure reports, attend lessons learned workshops and seek to apply relevant learnings.
- Lead and facilitate project appraisal workshops/reviews and project kick‑off meetings.
Base location – Hybrid – Clear Water Court
Working pattern or hours – 36 hours
What you should bring to the role:
- Essential Experience of different delivery methodologies, i.e. Agile, Waterfall.
- Extensive experience in IT project management, managing complex projects with multiple internal and external stakeholders/third parties.
- Delivery of IT projects involving third‑party suppliers.
- A degree qualification or an industry‑recognised qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of managing complex projects with a mixture of internal and third parties.
- Desirable Agile Project Management/Scrum.
- Prince 2 or equivalent.
- Technical skills/experience in alignment with projects to be run.
- Management of platform replacements involving significant business change.
