Job Description

We are recruiting for a Painter and Decorator for the local Council in Bournemouth, Dorset. The role involves assisting the Decorating team with general painting duties within council properties. This is an immediate start for the successful applicant. The position is initially a 3-month temporary contract, with the possibility of extension depending on workload. Future permanent opportunities may be available. This role is ideal for someone who has experienced a drop in workload and is seeking full-time work. Own transport is ideally required, but a van can be provided where possible.

Salary: £30,480 per annum (paid weekly at £14.99 per hour)

Hours: 8am – 4.30pm, Monday to Thursday (37.5 – 39 hours per week); 8am – 3.30pm, Friday

The Role

Perform general painting and decorating tasks across BCP properties, assisting decorators with preparing work areas. Tasks include painting, prepping, masking, glossing, emulsion work, woodwork, walls, minor filling, and sanding.

Requirements

  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, willing to learn, with good people skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Uniform and PPE will be provided.
  • No unspent criminal convictions.

This position is subject to a Basic DBS check.
