This role will cover the East Midlands Region with a base location of Milton Keynes.The Local Director will act as ambassador of the Bank to the external market, cultivating collaborative relationships with wider external stakeholders across the business community. They will be responsible for managing, leading and developing a SME BB coverage team for the local SME business market. The role will have full credit and operational risk oversight and supports the formulation and implementation of strategy.The role holder will champion a customer-obsessed and winning mindset culture across the business and embed high-performance through SME Business Banking colleagues to better serve our customers. Responsible for developing a sustainable local business growth strategy, focusing the team on maximising the depth and breadth of existing customer relationships, with an awareness of cultivating new-to bank opportunities, whilst leveraging our network aligned with bank’s overall goals.In this role, you will:
- Lead a Relationship Management team aligned to a common purpose and HSBC values, and delivering fair outcomes for customers
- Prepare and coach Relationship Managers in building an understanding of the customer’s business, identifying customer needs and delivering fair outcomes
- Drive appropriate financial focus of team to enhance revenue growth through both current and new-to-bank customers (Domestic and International) such as providing feedback following customer interactions
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver appropriate needs-based solutions for customers and engage in value-adding discussions with high priority customers to facilitate business execution or assist in managing sensitive risk issues
- Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the customer lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating
- Promote the Bank brand, capabilities and services through local events and partnerships
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of the UK market, understanding the interplay between geopolitics and commercial outcomes, and connectivity with a range of stakeholders (i.e. customers, regulators, and employees)
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Corporate Lending
- Proven coaching and performance management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a particular emphasis upon inspiring, influencing and negotiating in dealing with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment, meet role demands and make prompt and practical business decision, even in times of ambiguity, considering various perspectives and taking responsibility for outcomes
- Ability to understand a customers’ business and priorities and interact with business customers at all levels.
