  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior H&S role ideally with a civils background.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent recognised safety qualification.
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving a safety-first culture across teams.
  • Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach.

Overview of Role:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation and internal policies.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and document findings.
  • Develop, review, and maintain risk assessments and method statements.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures.
  • Deliver HSE reports and performance metrics at management meetings.
  • Investigate incidents and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety records.
  • Organise and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and induction briefings.
  • Act as the primary contact for internal audits, regulatory bodies, and external inspections.
  • Monitor and report on accidents, near-misses, and compliance KPIs.
  • Contribute to the development and testing of emergency response plans.
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE management systems.
  • Promote behavioural safety and a culture of continuous HSE improvement.
  • Provide coaching, support, and leadership on safety matters across all departments.
